Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences
Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences are upon us. These conferences will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 4:00-9:00 in the school’s Auxiliary Gymnasium due to our girls’ basketball teams playing against Chatfield in the main gymnasium. Entrance to the conferences will be at the far, southeast school doors through the courtyard. Students will be available to assist with directions. Any parents wishing to attend the basketball games after conferences will next to exit the HR wing and enter the gymnasium through the main entrance. Here is the layout in the gym for conferences.

Teen Safe Drivers
Dakota Ridge High School and American Family Insurance have partnered up to promote Teen Safe Drivers! Teens who take the Safe Driver Pledge at www.teensafedriver.com/pledge with their parents understand how to avoid the common mistakes and distractions that lead to accidents. Teens and Parents who sign the online pledge together are entered a drawing to win a Nintendo Wii, a pair of Ipod shuffles, or a pair of iTunes gift cards. Additionally the school with the most teen-parent pledges based on school enrollment wins $25,000, the second place school $10,000 and the third highest school receives $5,000. As registration season is upon us, the new Course Planning Guide for next year's class offerings is now available online. Dakota Ridge Area Community Summit
The Dakota Ridge Articulation Area aspires to help all members of its community develop a balance between and synergy from four basic human needs: the need to live, the need to love, the need to learn and the need to leave a legacy. In an effort to further develop this balance and synergy, the Dakota Ridge area schools would like to explore community-wide collaborations and conversations which support all of our area youth. We would like to invite key members from our community representing schools, business, recreational district, and faith community to a Dakota Ridge Area Community Summit.

Relief for Haiti
Project Cure/Haitian Timoun Foundation has selected DRHS to assist them in obtaining new/unused basic medical supplies for Haitian Families who are in need. Your simple donation of basic medical supplies like bandages, gauze, peroxide, latex gloves, tape, antibiotic ointment, large bandages, and hand sanitizer will have a direct effect on many Haitian Families. So please play your part and help us fill up those bins! There are two collection bins in the school; one is located across from the finance office, and another one is located in the atrium close by the cafeteria. The collection bins will be available for donations from Feb. 1st though Feb. 5th. Haitians thank you in advance for all your donations and support!
Non-profit Outreach to Support the Military
Advisement classes are planning to support the military for this year's non-profit outreach. One option being considered is for classes to adopt a military troop. To make this outreach more meaningful to students, we would like to adopt troops who include a Dakota Ridge High School alumni. Do you have a child or neighbor who is currently deployed overseas in some branch of the military? If so, please click on the link below, and complete the form. After the form is completed, please e-mail the form to the Advisement Committee at pcumming@jeffco.k12.co.us.
Thank you for your support.
